Q: We would like to order new software. What is the procedure?

A:

NOTE: PREPAYMENT IS REQUIRED ON ALL ORDERS AND THERE ARE NO REFUNDS ON SOFTWARE ORDERS. IF PAYMENT IS MADE WITH A PERSONAL CHECK, THE ORDER WILL NOT SHIP UNTIL THE FUNDS CLEAR.

Q: What kind of payment do you accept?


A:
Pre-payment is required, either check or credit card. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. We cannot ship from a purchase order. If payment is made with personal check, the order will ship when the check has cleared. Please note there are no refunds on software orders.

Q: Is there a high school version of your software?


A:
No, we currently do not offer a high school version of any of our products.

Q: Are there demo versions of your software?


A:
No, we do not have demo versions of our products.

Q: Are customers required to purchase upgrades each year?


A:
We are continually adding features to our products. Upgrades are typically available each year around July. Customers are not required to purchase an upgrade for a particular product unless they require activation for live XML game stats. XML activation is valid for one year.

Q: We upgraded last year, and are not sure if we should again this year. Besides new features and enhancements in the new version, are there any other benefits to upgrading again this year?


A:
Along with new features and enhancements, purchasing the latest version also entitles you to maintenance updates for that product throughout the year, as well as XML activation.

Q: What are the procedures and costs for shipping software?


A:
Our policy is to process, assemble and ship orders within 2-3 business working days from the time payment is received in our office. Typically an order will ship within a day or 2, but processing time can vary, depending upon the time of year, availability of products, etc. Our standard method of shipping is UPS 2nd day service or UPS next day service. We can also charge to your shipping account with UPS, Airborne or Federal Express, if applicable. NOTE: The method of shipment does not affect our in-office processing time, only the speed at which the carrier gets the product to you. For example, UPS 2nd day means it will arrive to you 2 days after we ship it, not 2 days after it is ordered.

Q: Is software available for download?


A:
Software is not available for download. We will ship a CD once the payment has been received.

Q: I am using an older version of a STAT CREW product; how can I obtain changes, fixes, enhancements?


A:
A new version of each product is available every year aroud July. These are referred to as "upgrades", and can be purchased for $125 each (plus S&H) if you have the previous version. Once a new version is released, minor changes that are made to it during the season are referred to as "updates" and are available for free if you have that version. For example, an upgrade to the football software released in July of 2007 was called version 4.9.0. From July 2007 until June 2008, updates made are indicated by a change in the last digit (e.g., version 4.9.1, etc.). "Updates" are available for download at http://www.statcrew.com/download. If you wish to purchase an upgrade, click on PRICES/HOW TO ORDER or contact us directly.

Q: When I attempt to install the software, I get the following error message: "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application
."

A:
This is not a problem caused by our software. Here is some information we found on the internet:
1) Go to http://www.visualtour.com/downloads/default.asp and get the "xp_fix.exe" patch. Tech support at Visual Tour said that they do not know what causes the corruption to command.com, autoexec.nt and config.nt, but the "xp_fix.exe" patch they provide came from Microsoft. They suspect this problem might be caused by a virus of some sort but don't know for sure.
2) Go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324767 any follow those instructions.
One customer resolved this problem by copying the autoexec.nt file from another working computer and then copied it into the \system32 folder on the problem computer.
We suggest that you consult your tech support for advice before proceeding with any of the ideas above. Call us if you need further assistance.

Q: When installing an upgrade version, do I need to "un-install" the prior version of the software?


A:
No, installing an update will NOT erase your current games and rosters, with one exception: if you are using the SAMPLES directory for your games and rosters, then you must backup those files prior to installing the upgrade, and then restore them afterwards.

Q: Where can I find the serial number for the software installation?


A:
The serial number/registration code can be found on the back of the software CD case. If you do not have the case or cannot find the number, call the office or send an email to support@statcrew.com.

Q: How many times can I install the software?


A:
The license agreement indicates "You may install and use the software on two computers at the same time." By this statement, we intend that the software can be installed and running on no more than two computers at any one time. Therefore, you could have the software installed on more than two computers, as long as no more than two are running the software at any one time. If more than two instances of the program need to be running at one time (multi-field tournament in baseball or soccer, for example) then additional installations can be purchased. The intent, and the spirit of the license agreement is to ensure the licensed organization maintains control of the license, and the software is used for the purpose of that organization only.

Q: Will STAT CREW SOFTWARE products run on PDAs and handheld devices?


A:
No. STAT CREW SOFTWARE products require the following operating systems to run: Windows 95 through Vista; as well as access to all of the keys found on a normal keyboard.
